New Jonah – With Visual Mahzor Art
This new rendering of Jonah for 5785 features a renewed telling of the story illuminated by art from Bayit’s Visual Mahzor, our new volume of artwork inspired by the Torah and haftarah readings for the Yamim Nora’im / Days of Awe. On the final slide there is a series of discussion questions, rooted both in the story of Jonah and in the four artistic renderings included here.
The script can be read aloud as a monologue, or divided up between four readers, one for each chapter. Artwork featured in this slideshow is by Rinat Gilboa, Chavi Feldman, Yonah Verwer, and Diane Palley.
The book is available now for $36. Carry a copy to shul for inspiration during Torah and haftarah reading, or delve into its art at home, on a hike, in the hospital, or wherever you may be at the holidays this year.
